How to undo changes and go back to a previous version

Sometimes the AI makes a change you’re not happy with—or maybe you just want to go back to how things looked a few steps ago. Chariot makes it easy to undo changes and return to a previous version of your site.

Here’s how:

1. Find the Step You Want to Revert To

In the chat window, look through your previous conversation with Chariot. After each AI response, you’ll see a "Revert to this point" option underneath.

2. Click "Revert to this point"

When you find the spot you want to return to, click that link. This tells Chariot you want to roll back the project to exactly how it was at that point in time.

3. Confirm the Revert

A confirmation dialog will appear. Reverting will:

• Delete all messages that came after that point
• Restore your site to the exact code and design it had at that step

Click Confirm to complete the action. Your site will now reflect that earlier state, and the chat history will also update accordingly.

Tips

• You can only revert to previous AI responses—not your own messages
• This action is permanent; changes made after the selected point will be lost
• It’s a great way to quickly undo mistakes or experiment without fear
